Joan C. Powell
With her twin, they write fiction together as JoEllen Conger. Joan also writes under her married name, Joan C. Powell. Joyce writes as Joyce A. Kennedy. Joan has been a member of Romance Writers of America since 1989,and has served as president of her local writing chapter three consecutive years. In 1999, they donated a short fantasy story, THE DARK DRAGON'S DAUGHTER, to Starlight Writer Publication, the proceeds of the Evening Star Anthology [ISBN-1-929034-02-4] were donated to support The National Women's Crises Center. The e-book is still available as a download at www.rfiwest.com under Fantasy.
More recently they donated THIS OLD DOG, a Contemporary Romance Novella, e-published in the Star of the Spirit of Hope Anthology [ISBN-1-58697-388-6]- 11/2001, at Romance Foretold Inc, www.rfiwest.com, found under Anthologies. The proceeds of this anthology will be donated to the Christen Lamb Foundation, in honor of an eight year-old girl who was abducted and murdered. Word Weavers Book Reviewers have just awarded the Star of the Spirit of Hope Anthology their “Award of Excellence”, the first ever awarded to an anthology, their Senior Editor stated.
Their Pagan-flavored trilogy, RETURN OF THE GODDESS - [ISBN-1-929034-39-3], was released by Starlight Writer Publication in April 2000. Re-contracted in August 2001 by Romance Foretold, Inc and RFIWest: it is now being considered by Wings ePress. It is a quest/ adventure tale, packed with action, enjoyed by children and adults alike.

The featured story is Beowolf’s Companion, a Romance Novella featured on a rancho in 1880’s Mexico.
Their Contemporary Romance fiction in progress [spearheaded by Joyce] includes: Rite of Passage, The Imbroglion Mirror, Goodbye My Darling, and Yesterday’s Widow. Although the twins live miles apart, thanks to email, they are in constant communication. Joyce A Kennedy
Joyce, lives in Bakersfield with her husband and assorted critters, including two new kittens. The twins began their fiction-writing careers as a diversion to their every-day duties. Joyce not only critiques manuscripts by mail, and serves as a writing contest judge, but co-writes romance, fantasy, and adventure tales. Joyce also writes Metaphysical Self-Help books under her married name, Joyce A. Kennedy Mds, and gives lectures on alternative self-healing methods.
